Saskatchewan named a world leader in mining report
The province says a new report has named Saskatchewan one of the world’s best regions to get into the mining business.
A media release from the province says a new report from the industry publication Mining Journal gave Saskatchewan top marks in an “opportunity index,” which ranks areas based on perceived mineral potential and investment risk. The province was also one of two jurisdictions in the world to score the highest possible rating for overall investment, based on legal, governance, social, fiscal, and infrastructure performance assessments.
The release says those scores were based on surveys of more than 900 mining industry professionals, as well as risk-related data. There were 111 jurisdictions ranked, spread out across 83 countries.
The report is not freely available, but can be viewed by subscribers.
