Mustangs commit Grand Prairie product for 2021/2022
The Melfort Mustangs have started their week with another commitment from one province east.
Tye Evans, a 2003-born forward, has committed to the Mustangs for the 2021/2022 season. The Grand Prairie, Alta. product played in three games with the Grand Prairie Storm of the Alberta U18 AAA league this season, and he tallied one assist.
“Tye plays the game with skill and puck possession,” Mustangs head coach and general manager Trevor Blevins said in a release. “He also brings a competitive edge that fits with our style of play.”
In 2019/2020 with the Storm, Evans had six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 32 games. However, the forward stepped up in the playoffs where he led the Storm in scoring over five games contributing one goal and six assists.
