The Melfort Mustangs have announced another commitment for the 2021/2022 season.

Wyatt Day, the 2003-born defenceman from Gordondale, Alta., has committed to the Mustangs for next season.

Day began the season with the Grand Prairie Storm of the Alberta U18 AAA league. He was held scoreless in three games, and had four penalty minutes.

In 2019/2020, Day played in 32 games for the Storm and had three goals and eight assists for 11 points.

“Wyatt is a smooth skating defenceman with lots of speed,” Mustangs head coach and general manager, Trevor Blevins, said in a release. “He will bring a dynamic to our lineup that will be a huge asset for our D group.”

Prior to his time with the Storm, Day, listed at 5-11, played with at Pacific Coast Academy in Victoria, B.C.

Day’s fellow Storm teammate, Tye Evans, also recently committed to the Mustangs.
