Sand bottom swimming pool and creek golf course main attractions at LeRoy Leisureland

A busy camping season lies ahead in Saskatchewan and northeastNOW is putting the spotlight on area regional parks ahead of the May long weekend.

LeRoy Leisureland has just a few of their 36 camp sites available for this weekend and throughout the summer.

General Manager Della Sussums said Leisureland is typically pretty busy featuring a pool like no other in the area.

“The swimming pool is so unique as it has a sand bottom with a sandy beach around it,” Sussums said. “People just love it.”

Two sets of swimming lessons will be available this summer.

The nine-hole golf course at Leisureland is also unique as it runs through a creek.

“You actually cross the creek six times which sometimes can be a bit of a challenge, but it definitely makes it fun,” Sussums said.

The first men’s night of the season in on May 25 and May 27 will be the first lady’s night. A few tournaments will be hosted at the golf course as well.

This year, camp site bookings are seeing an uptick as Saskatchewan residents look to have their vacations close to home.

The park opened on April 30 and Sussums said things have been busy since then.

“I think we have only one seasonal site available, other than that you may not be able to get in exactly when you want to but we do have some openings,” Sussums said.

Camp site information and bookings can be found on the LeRoy Leisureland website.
