Enhancements coming to new Carrot River school
Enhancements will be added to the new Kindergarten to Grade 12 school in Carrot River as the committee is raising funds.
The school committee is raising money for enhancements including a weight room, multi-sport court, play spaces, track upgrades and soccer pitches.
“The RM of Moose Range and the Town of Carrot River suggested that we form a group to do some fundraising,” Kevin Trew, North East School Division trustee representing Subdivision 2 said. “We have some local people on the committee that have had interest in the school. I don’t want to name names because then I’m going to miss somebody. We had some conversations with our local staff at the schools that are currently in Carrot River about the enhancements that would be important to the local community.”
The school division will be submitting enhancement plans to the architect by June 30 and the goal is to raise $2 million by then.
