Highway 3 Baseball League kicking off with five teams in Prince Albert, northeast regions

Jun 4, 2021 | 3:00 PM

The Highway 3 Baseball League kicks off its inaugural season on June 15 in the Prince Albert and northeast regions.

Five teams are going to begin the season and Board Member Adam Morrison said there’s lots of excitement for the first pitch to be thrown. Prince Albert, Birch Hills, Tisdale, and Humboldt will all have teams, while Arborfield and Carrot River will have a combined team called the Pasquia Angels.

“Small communities like that, it sounds like everyone’s just really excited to bring baseball back to all these towns,” Morrison told northeastNOW.

Teams will play an eight game regular season, usually playing once a week followed by a four team playoff afterwards.

Morrison said their are a lot of local players who have played competitive baseball in the past who make up the teams.

He said five teams in the league is just the beginning, especially with the commitment of people in each community.

“We’re really excited that this has taken off so well in the first season, and hopefully it expands from there,” Morrison said.

You can follow the league through their Facebook page.
