Red River Mutual donates $15,000 for green space at New Horizons Centre in St. Brieux

The St. Brieux Kin Club is looking to create green space around the New Horizons Centre, including a gazebo, pathways, rain barrels, benches and an area for activities in the space.

Red River Mutual is donating $15,000 to help the club achieve their greenery goals.

The space will be at the seniors centre but will be open to everyone.

This is one of 10 projects in Saskatchewan and Manitoba awarded funding this year through Red River Mutual’s Spruce Up Your Story program.

Red River Mutual staff are also volunteering to help do work to complete winning projects.

“The stories in our communities are the ones that motivate great work within our walls,” said Brian Esau, President and CEO of Red River Mutual. “Our Spruce Up Your Story initiative is our effort to strengthen our connection to the communities we serve.”

The initiative received more than 240 submissions for 2021, which is almost twice as many as their inaugural campaign last year.

“After last year’s overwhelming response, we knew we had to carry the program forward,” Esau said. “Seeing the real impact of these improvements really strengthened our commitment to give back to the communities we serve and go beyond just insurance.”

Red River Mutual is giving a total of $150,000 through the program this year.
