Lake Country Coop cut the ribbon last week on their new wine, spirits, beer store in Nipawin.

The liquor store was added to the existing grocery store to create a one-stop shop for customers.

Director of marketing and community relations Brittney Rosenberg told northeastNOW the store was completed on time and opened to the public ahead of the August long weekend.

“We are honoured to be able to enhance the community with a premiere shopping venue while providing our members and customers with socially responsible transactions,” Rosenberg said. “We are pleased that our store offers a high-end shopping experience that is unique and memorable.”

A growler bar and tasting bar sets them apart from other stores in the region.

“The growler bar will feature a daily selection of craft beer on tap,” Rosenberg said. “The growler club program provides opportunities to win monthly draws, information on new craft beers and a chance at discounts on refills.”

A tasting bar also allows customers to taste various premium and local products.

“We proudly partner with local distilleries and breweries to provide accessibility to products from the Nipawin area as well as other location in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba,” Rosenberg said.

The growler bar is specific to Lake Country Coop and is only offered at their Prince Albert Cornerstone location and now in Nipawin.

An expansive walk-in cooler includes craft beer, limited edition items and more.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting took place on Thursday and the store has had great response from the public since then according to Rosenberg.

“There was a lot of enthusiasm regarding the special features this location offers,” Rosenberg said. “We were elated to see so many people arriving long before the ribbon cutting.”

CEO Tim Keller and various board directors and senior leadership team members were all on hand at the grand opening event.

The investment of the liquor store in the community will provide up to 15 new jobs in the community.

Hours of operation are Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
