Boat launch repairs needed at St. Brieux Regional Park

Aug 10, 2021 | 5:00 PM

Management at the St. Brieux Regional Park is hoping to raise $10,000 to repair the boat launch at the lake.

General Manager Tenyll Cook told northeastNOW the launch has seen a lot of traffic this year alone making the repairs essential.

“Fish have been biting and word got around so just about everyday we are seeing a minimum of five boats out there through the regional park side,” Cook said. “That does not include the cabins that are on the lake as well.”

Over the years, dirt has been pushed out to the side and created holes where boat trailers pull in.

“We are planning to put in some cleaned rock as well as more cement pads to make sure what we do will last,” Cook said.

A barbecue on Sunday by the boat launch, kicked off the fundraising efforts.

According to Cook, it went over very well with a mix of campers at the lake as well as residents of St. Brieux supporting the fundraiser.

A silent auction will also be happening in conjunction with the last chance golf tournament on Aug. 28. Item donations are being accepted from local businesses to add to the silent auction.

Registrations are still open for the end of year two-man scramble up until Aug. 27 at 306-275-4433.

Other barbecue fundraising events for the boat launch repairs are in the planning stages for this summer and will be posted when the details are finalized.
