Burgers to Beat MS

Teen Burgers taking the stand against MS tomorrow at A&W

Aug 18, 2021 | 5:00 PM

Anyone looking to enjoy an A&W Teen Burger tomorrow will also be helping people with MS in Canada.

Two dollars from every Teen Burger purchased on Aug. 19 will be donated to the MS Society of Canada. Donations at the till will also be accepted.

At both the Humboldt and Melfort locations, classic car owners are also encouraged to bring their vehicles around for a car show.

Each car owner in Melfort will be getting a coupon for a free Teen Burger and fries.

Jan Bulayog, the new manager of the Melfort location, said he has been working with A&W since the beginning of the campaign and it is always an exciting day.

Colleen Cornelius, general manager of the Humboldt location, said there will be plenty for all ages to do at the Humboldt A&W. There will be a car show, fish pond, face painting, and visits from musician Graham Dyck, the Humboldt Broncos, and a representative from Humboldt city council.

Helping get more people to A&W on this special day was a no-brainer, said Cornelius, as MS affects a lot of people and their families across Canada. They see it in the restaurant, she said.

“We just want to make a change, we want to make Humboldt a better place. COVID has been hard on I think everyone, and then to have an opportunity to actually bring the community together while doing something good for MS, it’s just a no-brainer for me.”

This has been the 12th year for the Burgers to Beat MS Day at A&Ws across the country. To date, $533,532 has been raised through the campaign.

According to the A&W website, “on average, 12 Canadians are diagnosed with MS every day.”
