Skate Tisdale partners up with Tisdale Hotel and Pub once again for K-Food fundraiser

The Tisdale Hotel and Pub, in conjunction with Skate Tisdale, is hosting a K-Food fundraiser this week. People will have to pre-order their Korean supper boxes by Sept. 30 and will then pick them up on Oct. 3 between 4 and 7 p.m.

According to Kelly Andris, the fundraising coordinator for Skate Tisdale, both parties have partnered up before, earlier this year, for a similar fundraiser that went quite well.

“We’ve hosted this once before and it went really really well,” Andris said. “We had a lot of great feedback both on the service and the food and we as a club really enjoyed working with Jay (Manager of the Tisdale Hotel and Pub) and his staff. We found them to be super awesome, organized, very efficient and the food was amazing quality.”

The supper boxes will include bulgogi and noodles with Korean barbeque sauce barbecue beef, glass noodles made of sweet potato starch, broccoli, carrots and onion, steamed rice, Dakgangjeong (deep-fried crispy chicken, sweet and spicy Korean sauce) and Tangsu Mandu (deep-fried dumplings, Korean sweet and sour sauce), all for just $18.

Andris also mentioned not only how beneficial the last fundraiser was to her club, but as well to the Hotel and Pub itself.

“We were just extremely happy to be given the opportunity to have this fundraiser again in order to support our club that is always in need of assistance. We also like to support their business, however, especially in COVID when things have been more difficult and slow, so it’s basically a win-win for both of us.”

For the fundraiser $5 from every order will go directly to the Skate Tisdale Club, which will help them cover their operating costs for their upcoming fall regular season, which will start sometime in October.

“We are basically a non-profit club that teaches children in the community to skate and we’re the only club in town that does afford that opportunity to kids,” Andris said. “This money goes towards the club’s general operation, ice times and coaching and we do also like to bring in special events as well. It all helps keep the club operating.”

Andris was also quick to point out how truly crucial this fundraiser was, especially when considering the timing of it and how well it will help this season. She also pointed out how this fundraiser not only helps them with their financial need but also gets the word out about their club and what they can offer.

“This is kind of nice in that this is the startup of next year and now we’re starting with this fundraiser again. We’re just kind of happy to get the word out about Skate Tisdale,” Andris said. “I think a lot of people don’t always realize what opportunities they have with Skate Tisdale.”
