Hawks host Flin Flon to start busy week
After five days off the Nipawin Hawks are set to hit the ice again tonight (Tuesday) when the Flin Flon Bombers visit the Centennial Arena.
The Hawks are sitting with a record of 5-2 after seven games and are third in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Sher-Wood Division, two points behind the Bombers.
Head Coach Doug Johnson said he’s glad the team had a break after a busy start to the season but he’s ready for a week that features four games.
“I am looking forward to it,” Johnson told northeastNOW. “We had a couple days off to give the guys some rest because we played a lot of games early. As mentioned, a couple days off but we had three really good days of practice. I really like the way the guys are moving and competing. It just seems like there’s more precision to their game, more purpose to their game so I’m looking forward to seeing how this week treats us.”
