Melfort and Estevan swap U18 AAA players

The Melfort Mustangs and Estevan Bruins have made a trade swapping a pair of 2004-born players.

In the trade, the Mustangs receive goaltender James Venne in exchange for forward Brady Wilson.

Venne, out of Saskatoon, Sask. is a former sixth-round SJHL Draft pick of the Bruins and spent the shortened 2020/2021 season with the Saskatoon Blazers in Saskatchewan’s U18 AAA league. In two games that season he was 2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against-average, a .949 save percentage and a shutout.

Wilson is currently playing with the Moose Jaw Warriors in Saskatchewan’s U18 AAA league. He has six goals and three assists in six games.
