Four adults arrested in connection with stolen and forged documents

Local RCMP officers found stolen and forged personal identification documents in a house in Lanigan leading to four arrests.

A search warrant was executed by Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP on Oct. 14 for a residence along Atrium Street.

Officers found and seized forged documents, stolen mail, and seized large quantities of credit cards, identification cards, and credit cards.

Weapons were found at the scene included homemade conducted energy weapons and bear spray, as well as illegal cannabis plants.

At the residence, four individuals were arrested.

Acting detachment commander of the Humboldt RCMP, Corporal Ivan Ottenbreit, said the RCMP are dedicated to protecting the public.

“The charges and property seizures that resulted from this in-depth investigation are just the latest example of the results of this commitment,” Ottenbreit said.

Kailyn Friesen, 32, of Lanigan, Sask. has been charged with:

  • 1 count of theft under $5000
  • 1 count possession of property obtained by crime
  • 2 counts of possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count of forgery
  • 4 counts of failing to comply with release order
  • 4 counts of failing to comply with undertaking
  • 1 count of harvesting cannabis

Ryan Friesen, 24, of Leask, Sask. has been charged with:

  • 1 count of theft under $5000
  • 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime
  • 2 counts of possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count of forgery
  • 5 counts of failing to comply with probation order
  • 1 count of harvesting cannabis

Josephine Bear, 31, of Prince Albert, Sask. has been charged with:

  • 1 count of theft under $5000
  • 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime
  • 2 counts of possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count of forgery
  • 4 counts of failing to comply with undertaking
  • 1 count of harvesting cannabis

Josephine Bear had also been arrested on several outstanding warrants.Shaye Peters, 18, of Leask, Sask. has been charged with:

  • 1 count of theft under $5000
  • 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime
  • 2 counts of possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count of forgery
  • 1 count of harvesting cannabis

Kailyn Freisen, Ryan Friesen, and Josephine Bear are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19, 2021. Shaye Peters will appear in court on Dec. 20, 2021.
