It took overtime, but the Saskatchewan Roughriders won the CFL West Division semifinal 33-30 over the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday.

Brett Lauther’s 34-yard field goal snapped a 30-30 tie and lifted the Roughriders to the victory. His kick came moments after Rene Paredes missed a 44-yard attempt on Calgary’s second possession of overtime.

The victory put the Roughriders into the West Division final, which is set for Dec. 5 in Winnipeg against the Blue Bombers.

Saskatchewan quarterback Cody Fajardo threw four interceptions Sunday, but ran in a late one-yard touchdown to put the Riders up 27-24.

Saskatchewan’s defence put in another solid performance, forcing four turnovers by Calgary. Stamps quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell threw two interceptions, the Stampeders lost a fumble on a punt, and Calgary came up short on a third-down attempt.

Fajardo completed 22 of 33 attempts for 189 yards and a touchdown to slotback Kian Schaffer-Baker. Fajardo also added 89 yards on the ground, including a one-yard touchdown.

Mitchell finished the game with 26 completions on 36 attempts for 285 yards and no touchdowns.

Calgary running back Ka’Deem Carey had both touchdowns for the Stamps and finished with 109 yards on the ground.

Paredes went 5-for-8 on field-goal attempts. Lauther hit four of his five attempts, including the game-winner.
