Vehicle fire near Silver Park result of crash with deer
Dec 10, 2021 | 11:12 AM
A vehicle fire near Silver Park led to the temporary closure of Highway 6 on Monday night.
Melfort Fire and Rescue responded to the scene one mile north of Silver Park at around 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, fire crews found a car that had hit a deer causing it to start on fire.
“All occupants of the vehicle were able to get out with no injuries,” Fire Chief Shaun Stewart said. “The road was shut down temporarily while the firefighters extinguished the fire.”
Once the highway reopened, firefighters took care of traffic control until the vehicle was loaded onto a tow truck.
