There is no doubt that Rayce Ramsay has made a huge contribution to the Humboldt Broncos this season.

The Saskatoon original has played 42 games with the green and gold with 33 wins and nine loses to his name and has spent 2,493 minutes in the Bronco’s net so far this season. Compared to the rest of the league, Ramsay has the most wins and minutes.

While he is not yet finished donning the green and gold jersey, Ramsay is looking to the future as he has committed to the University of Toronto for the fall to play with the Varsity Blues of the U Sports Ontario University Athletic Conference.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to go get a world class education while still competing at a very high level of hockey and I’m just really excited for the next four years after this,” Ramsay told northeastNOW.

While he hopes he can leave Humboldt with a championship title, Ramsay said he will look back fondly on his time in Humboldt following two seasons and 69 games.

“I’ve had nothing but good experiences here in Humboldt. The whole community and the organization has been really good to me and just very grateful to have been a part of such a great organization.”

And Ramsay is not the only member of the Humboldt Broncos excited for his future. Head coach and general manager Scott Barney said Ramsay’s future with U of T is incredible and a credit to his hardwork on and off the ice.

“He’s been a prime example of what it means to be a Bronco, and it’s been great for our young players to learn from him and see that level of dedication. U of T is one of the most prestigious universities in North America. We’re very happy for Rayce to get the opportunity to play there, as well as continue his academics.”

Ramsay will be working towards his degree in computer science at the top ranked university in Canada, according to MacLeans Magazine university rankings.
