Family Day activities across the northeast this long weekend

Feb 18, 2022 | 4:00 PM

With the long weekend coming up, those heading out to celebrate Family Day can enjoy various activities across the northeast.

In Melfort those wanting to spend their break becoming a leader are invited to take the bronze medallion and bronze cross course at the Northern Lights Palace. Online registration is now open.

For families wanting to go for a public swim, additional times have been added as well as fun family activities.

Those who love the great outdoors can join in on many of the outside activities the city offers. With outdoor rinks such as Windsor Pond and Crokicurl.

The city is also offering a lending program for those wanting to ski or snowshoe.

Humboldt hockey fans can watch their favourite team, the Broncos play for free. The game begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Uniplex.

Bronco fans can also stick around after the game and enjoy an opportunity to skate with the hockey superstars.

Saskatchewan families who have always wanted to try ice fishing can do so at no cost. Every provincial waterbody that has an open season for sport fishing is open to anyone without requiring a license.
