TeleMiracle is happening this weekend and will be filled with northeast talent

Saskatchewan’s biggest fundraiser is happening this weekend and the local acts are excited to get on stage.

The annual 20-hour Telemiracle telethon is broadcasting live today and will feature a lineup of homegrown talent.

Alyssa Hinz, owner of A-List Dance & Acrobatics in Humboldt told northeastNOW that this is the third year that the dancers will be on the show.

“It’s really humbling to be a part of something that helps so many people and the dancers love to support such a great cause.”

For the second year in a row, the group will be performing virtually due to the number of dancers.

“We all have people we know that go through hard times and need something like TeleMiracle. So we’re just happy to do what we can to support it.”

The dancers who have typically performed an acro routine will be performing a hip hop routine.

Solo singer Hana Grace from Humboldt will also be performing her rendition of My Church by Maren Morris.

“This is my second time. Last year I sang Riptide by Vance Joy.”

Grace is an avid performer and although she has done many performances, TeleMiracle feels special to her.

“Because it stays local. You can’t say you don’t know anybody who’s been helped by TeleMiracle.”

In addition to performing, Grace held a fundraiser at a Humboldt Broncos hockey game where family friends shared their experiences with TeleMiracle.

“My friend’s dad donated because he said that they helped his brother when his brother was sick. One of our family friends’ dad used TeleMiracle when he was sick. So it’s a very special cause to be a part of.”

Other local talent includes Birch Hills Dance Centre and Ellie Murray from Melfort.

The show begins at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 with the Countdown to TeleMiracle.
