Moose Range 4-H Beef Club Report

May 26, 2022 | 10:26 AM

With spring finally here the members of the Moose Range 4H Beef club have been busy planning and getting ready for another fun filled year.

This 4H year marks an exciting milestone for our club as this is the most members our club has had join. It is amazing to see some new faces and returning members and watch the club grow and expand over the past couple of years.

Our 24 members have been busy during the winter working on their record/project books and hosting club level public speaking.

Several of our members competed at district public speaking beginning of March and a few are moved onto regional public speaking that was hosted in Tisdale and one of our members went onto compete at provincial level public speaking in Middle Lake.

In April we completed two projects that we planned to build tack boxes and rope halters. Now that the snow has melted our members will be busy getting their show strings ready for our achievement day on June 19th.

Preparing these animals is a huge responsibility. Our members will be spending hours halter breaking and working with their projects. Some of our members will be taking their animals to Regional Show which is going to be in Melfort July 10/11.

This year our club is responsible for the charity steer.

All the proceeds from the ticket sales will be going to Make a Wish.

If you would like more info on our charity steer project any of our members or parents would be willing to answer any questions you may have.

A big thank you to all of our parents, families and volunteers because we know without you none of this would be possible.
