Alleged vehicle thief nabbed by police

Melfort RCMP may have put the brakes on a rash of recent vehicle thefts.

A woman from the city has been arrested and is facing four counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, as well as one count of impaired driving and three counts of failure to comply with a previous release order.

Danika Simon is scheduled to appear in court on June 13.

Over the past few months, several vehicles have been reported stolen in and around the Melfort area.
