On Sunday morning, Carrot River RCMP confirmed this news.

“This is not how anyone wanted the search for Frank to end. Our deepest condolences are with Frank’s family, loved ones, and community who have been greatly impacted by this tragedy,” said Sgt. Richard Tonge with Carrot River RCMP. “We would like to thank everyone within the community and beyond, who assisted in the search for Frank.”

At this time police said there is no indication of suspicious circumstances, but as he was just found, further investigation will take place, including working in partnership with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service and an autopsy has been scheduled.

Chief Head said they will hold a media conference soon to provide more details. In the meantime, he is asking for prayers and continued support for the family and the community.

Frank Young was last seen on April 19 at his home in the Cree Nation. An extensive search took place over the coming months with RCMP and several search and rescue teams involved.
