SIGA makes 125K donation to Tony Cote First Nations Games

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) recently presented a big cheque to the organizing committee of the 2022 Tony Cote First Nations Summer Games.

The exact amount was $125,000

“The 2022 Tony Cote Summer Games has been a long-term legacy commitment of SIGA, a core corporate pillar for SIGA is supporting Indigenous youth,” said SIGA President Zane Hansen.

“These Games are a celebration of our youth and the strength and resilience of our people and throughout the games, we will honour the very powerful message that Every Child Matters.”

The Tony Cote Games will have over 4,000 Indigenous athletes from across the province competing from July 24 to 30, with events being held in and around the Saskatoon region and at Whitecap Dakota First Nation.”

“We are grateful to SIGA’s long-term support of the Games and stepping up as one of our Exclusive Investors/Presenting Partners for the 2022 Tony Cote First Nations Summer Games,” said James Smith Cree Nation Chief Wally Burns.

James Smith Cree Nation is the official host for this year’s Summer Games.

Hansen mentioned its Community Investment Program was on hiatus last year due to the financial impacts of COVID-19. They’re happy though to be back, and sponsoring community initiatives such as these Games.

SIGA operates casinos in seven locations including Whitecap Dakota First Nation Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation in Prince Albert, and Mosquito First Nation in North Battleford.
