Melfort RCMP raise $5,000 through annual golf tournament
The Melfort RCMP recently held their annual golf tournament, as they raised funds for local community organizations.
A total of $5,000 was raised, with $4,500 of it going towards the North Central Health Care Foundation at the Melfort Hospital, more specifically, their oncology department.
The rest of the funds ($500) went to the Northeast Regional Victim Services (NERVS), which happens every year, however, the oncology department was something new the RCMP chose this year.
When asked what made them decide on oncology, tournament organizer and detachment service assistant, Lori Scott, told northeastNOW it was a way to honour a former officer.
