Favreau named SaskTel Goalie of the Week

The Melfort Mustangs’ number-one goaltender has been named the SJHL’s first SaskTel Goalie of the Week.

Joel Favreau, The 20-year-old netminder from Prince Albert stopped 47 of 49 shots he faced over the weekend, giving him a 1.02 goals-against-average (GAA) and a .959 save percentage.

Unfortunately, he only came away with a 1-1 record, after his club was shut out in their opener against Flin Flon.

Favreau currently ranks second in the league amongst all qualified goalies, in both GAA and save percentage.

The Mustangs will host the Broncos on Friday night, at the Palace, before heading back to Humboldt for game two of the home-and-home, on Saturday.
