Eighth arrest in Gallagher murder

An eighth person has been charged in connection with the death of Megan Gallagher.

Robin Tyler John, age 34, was arrested at a correctional facility on Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation this morning and charged with the unlawful confinement and aggravated assault of Gallagher.

John was in custody at the Willow Cree Healing Lodge on an unrelated matter when he was arrested.

He has been taken to the Saskatoon Police detention centre and remains in police custody. John will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday, October 3.

Investigators say more arrests are pending.

A search of the South Saskatchewan River near St. Louis started this morning and will continue for another three days.
