larongeNOW among Tri-Community Awards nominees

larongeNOW is one of several local businesses, organizations or individuals to be nominated for the La Ronge and District Chamber of Commerce Tri-Community Awards.

larongeNOW was nominated in the services, industry and trades category alongside Penny’s Hair Design, Jam Automotive, Co-op Marketplace and C-Stores, Preston Consulting and Mayo Auto Clinic.

Other nominee include Evyn Frisky (Baked by Evyn) and Jaymie Woodhouse McKenzie (Pawsitive Attitude Dog Training) for youth leader/entrepreneur. Rona, The Home Store and The Source have all been nominated for best retail business.

The restaurant category includes Cravings, KFC, Lavish Pizza and Family Restaurant, and Marker 47 Café. Napatak Ramble, La Ronge and Area KidSport, Early Years Family Resource Centre and Northern Sport, Culture and Recreation have been nominated for non-profit.

The home-based business category includes Baked by Evyn, DGS Plus (Deb’s Pantry), Julie’s Home Daycare, Mosquito Workshop and Taiga Designs. Abby Besharah, Matt Preston and Jaymie Woodhouse McKenzie are up for best entrepreneur.

The prestigious Citizen of the Year nominees are Becky McKenzie, Daina Lapworth, Genevieve Kustiak, Jody Laliberte and Rory Ballantyne. Those up for the inaugural Hugh Watt Legacy award are Nathan Kustiak, Joe and Linda Hordyski, Scott Krienke, Scott Robertson, Sheldon Merriman, Mike Bell and Jason Stewart Roberts Sr.

The Tri-Community Awards Gala will occur Oct. 22 at Eagle Point Resort. Cocktails start at 5:30 p.m., supper is at 6:30 p.m. and awards begin at 7:30 p.m. Live music with Daryll Anderson is scheduled for 9 p.m.
