Hawks look to return to win column with Flin Flon in town
The Nipawin Hawks will attempt to start another winning streak with the Flin Flon Bombers travelling to town for a Tuesday night Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) Sher-Wood Division matchup.
Nipawin had their three game winning streak busted on Saturday in a 7-3 home ice loss to the Battlefords, but Assistant Coach Levi Stuart said the team is still confident heading into the new week.
“I think we’ve really started to turn a corner here,” Stuart said after the club’s gameday skate. “The players are kind of in the same mindset as we are, we’re confident in ourselves and our group. We know we can play with anybody in this league.”
The Hawks are currently in eighth place in the SJHL standings, the Bombers sit in third. Each team has a victory on home ice in the season series between to the two rivals. Stuart said if Nipawin can play strong in their own end success should follow.
