The holiday cookie campaign from Tim Hortons is helping a local outreach program give people another reason to smile.

This year, Saskatchewan Tim Hortons are gearing up for the second round of smile cookies to double the good they do in the community.

Through the Smile Cookie campaign, 90 per cent of the proceeds are donated back to local community organizations and the remaining 10 per cent returns to local Tim Hortons.

North East Outreach and Support Services (NEOSS) will be receiving the funds raised from the Melfort, Tisdale, and Nipawin locations.

Jennifer Peterson Administrative Assistant with NEOSS told northeastNOW that all the money raised in each community will contribute to the 11 unique programs NEOSS offers.

“Without fundraisers such as these, we would not be able to continue operating the quality programming that we do.”

There are still two more days to go in the Smile Cookie campaign, as it wraps up its final day on December 11.

Peterson said NEOSS is anticipating the grand total once the campaign wraps up but for now they want to express their gratitude.

“I can say that we are very grateful to Tim Hortons for thinking of us, and to our daily matching sponsors in each community.”

Those who aren’t sure if their car will make it to their local Tim’s or don’t want to brave the cold can contact NEOSS. They will find a way to bring cookies to your doorstep.

“I have been delivering cookies each day and it has definitely been crisp, but it is so worth it.”

Not only will NEOSS be receiving smile cookie donations but local businesses are chipping in and matching funds raised to $500 per day.

Day one sponsors included A&K Enns Trucking in Melfort, Northeast Appliance Plus in Tisdale & Diamond North Credit Union in Nipawin.

Day two sponsors were Royal LePage Hodgins Realty Melfort and North East Area in Melfort, Bowmar in Tisdale and Diamond North Credit Union in Nipawin.

Day three included two sponsors W Law in Melfort and Mollberg Agencies in Nipawin.

Day four sponsors featured W Law in Melfort, Lacroix Drug in Tisdale, Twisted-Tree & Richardson Home Hardware in Nipawin.
