Death of woman found near Melfort reservoir not criminal

RCMP have confirmed that a 43-year-old woman was found dead near the Melfort Reservoir on Jan. 3.

In an email sent to northeastNOW, they said the death is not considered suspicious.

Police were notified and responded along with local EMS and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.

Her next of kin have been notified and offered support by Victim Services.

Because the death is not considered suspicious, RCMP will no longer provide any updates and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Services has the lead in any remaining investigation.
