Mustangs add forward for 2023-24 season

The Melfort Mustangs have added a forward to next season’s squad.

Luc Fortier, from Zenon Park, has officially committed to the team for the 2023-2024 season after playing for the team once this year.

In that game, he scored his first SJHL goal and added two assists.

“Luc plays a high-energy game with lots of pace,” Trevor Blevins, Mustangs head coach and general manager said. “His performance while playing for us as an (affiliate player) this season shows that he can play in the SJHL at a high level and we’re excited to welcome him to our team next season.”

When he wasn’t playing for the Mustangs, Fortier was suiting up for the Yorkton Maulers U18 AAA club.

In 31 games, he’s potted eight goals and added seven assists for 15 points. This puts him fifth on the team in terms of points, and third in goals.

Fortier also joins current Maulers teammate Edward Knittig who previously committed to play for Melfort during the 2023-2024 season.
