Melfort Kinettes gear up for TeleMiracle

Feb 6, 2023 | 12:00 PM

There is a lot of excitement about TeleMiracle this year and the local Kinettes have more than one fundraiser planned.

With TeleMiracle 46 being a record-breaking year, the Melfort Kinettes hope to make TeleMiracle 47 another one to remember.

Angie Rolheiser with the organization told northeastNOW they’re hosting its third annual Fun Spiel.

“This year’s theme is Rock the House and we are just looking for teams of ladies to get registered for it,” she said.

For $25 a person, anyone can join in and help raise funds for TeleMiracle.

No experience is required and all equipment will be available. The only thing curlers need to bring are clean shoes.

For those with a competitive edge, the night will also feature prizes for curlers.

Although this fundraiser is set to bring in a pretty penny for TeleMiracle, the Kinettes aren’t stopping there.

Shannon Marshall, president of the Melfort Kinettes said there will also be a steak night at the Legion, organized by the Kinsmen.

“It’s on Feb. 9 for $30 a ticket and they are available from any kin member,” she said.

Another campaign coming to the northeast is the Helping Hand Fundraiser.

Marshall said the Helping Hands project is a great way to make a donation of any size to TeleMiracle.

“A helping hand is whatever anybody can afford to donate. It’s just whatever anybody is comfortable donating. You get to write your name on it,” she said.

TeleMiracle is taking place earlier this year than usual, happening Feb. 25-26. If you tune in you might even see some familiar faces.

“You’re gonna want to look for Melfort on the big screen because we’ll be there presenting what our community raises,” Marshall said.
