Silvernagle evens record at Scotties Tournament of Hearts
Saskatchewan is in the win column at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
After dropping its opening game Friday, Robyn Silvernagle’s North Battleford rink scored two in an extra end to beat Alberta’s Kayla Skrlik 11-9 during Saturday’s action at the Canadian women’s curling championship in Kamloops.
The teams traded single points in the first two ends before Skrlik cracked a four in the third. Silvernagle answered with a deuce in the fourth and, after a blank in the fifth, the Saskatchewan champions stole one in each of the sixth and seventh ends to tie the score.
After Skrlik scored one in the eighth to go ahead 6-5, Silvernagle put up four in the ninth to take a 9-6 lead. But the Alberta champions forced the extra end with three points in the 10th.
