Kelly Knapp’s Saskatchewan rink handled business Monday at the Tim Hortons Brier.

Knapp’s rink defeated Nunavut’s rink skipped by Jake Higgs 9-3 in eight ends in London, Ont.

The win improves Knapp’s rink to 2-2 at the Canadian men’s curling championship.

Team Saskatchewan — with Knapp, third Brennen Jones, second Mike Armstrong and lead Trent Knapp — got off to a fast start in the game, scoring three in the first end.

After Nunavut answered with a single, Saskatchewan put three more points on the board in the third.

Higgs’ rink scored two in the fifth after a blank in the fourth but Saskatchewan scored a single point in the next three ends to end the game.

It was an important win for the squad as it tries to keep pace in Pool A.

Saskatchewan will take on Nova Scotia on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
