Mustangs face uphill battle against Stars in games three and four
Some home cooking might be what the Melfort Mustangs need as they look to climb out of a 2-0 hole in their best-of-seven semi-final series against the Battlefords North Stars.
The Mustangs fell in game one 5-2, and then 7-1 in game two where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. With players not at 100 per cent at the time, Mustangs Assistant Captain Leith Olafson said it was a tough couple of games, but they won’t use it as an excuse.
“Some unfortunate circumstances, but we can’t really let that get in our way,” he said. “We just have to keep moving forward and treat these two games as kind of do or die.”
The Mustangs have scored just three goals in the first two games of the series and aren’t getting the results they would like defensively.
