City of Humboldt wraps up promo video series

May 16, 2023 | 8:50 AM

The City of Humboldt, after just over a year and a half of production, has finally wrapped up its series of videos, which was used to highlight the primary industries and recreational opportunities within the area.

The filming of these videos was completed during each season, to showcase what the city had going on, during every month on the calendar.

“It went really well,” said marketing and development manager Penny Lee. “The be part of it all in the heart of it all essentially turned out way better than what I even anticipated. For that short period of time that we wanted to keep the video under, it just amazed me that we were able to fit in everything and still get the point across without leaving anything out.”

Multiple solo videos were produced to focus on individual topics before they were eventually compiled into a slightly bigger video by the end.

Topics included the heart of agriculture, mining and manufacturing, arts, culture and tourism, winter and summer recreation, doing business, and I am Humboldt.

“For anybody who’s looking to relocate to Humboldt and isn’t familiar with the region, they can simply watch those videos and see what a beautiful place it is. They’ll see the recreational facilities that we have for their children, things for them to do as families, the businesses that we have here, and just giving them almost a virtual tour of Humboldt and the region before they decide to come here,” added Lee.

The videos were filmed and produced, in association with Homefield, which was described by Lee as a ‘local company.’

According to Lee, however, these productions won’t just be targeted toward local people.

“It will definitely be a great tool, but we’re also going even further and just making sure that these videos are being seen outside of Humboldt and keeping track of the insights so that we know which videos are more popular with people, and the demographics and geographics of who our viewers are. That will also then give us an idea of where we need to focus on more and what we can enhance.”
