Melfort acquires WHL veteran defenceman in trade with Melville
The Melfort Mustangs have just completed a blockbuster trade with the Melville Millionaires.
The Stangs have acquired 2003-born defenceman Chase Friedt-Mohr and a fifth round draft pick in 2025, in exchange for 2006-born defenceman Cohen Swan, 2006-born forward Evhan Allan, a first round draft pick in 2024, a third round draft pick in 2025, and a player development fee (PDF).
Friedt-Mohr (6-0/192 pounds), out of Prince Albert, has played parts of the last four season in the Western Hockey League (WHL), as well as the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).
The veteran defender has played a grand total of 125 regular season WHL games split between the Spokane Chiefs, Edmonton Oil Kings, and Tri-City Americans, scoring eight goals and adding 13 assists for 21 points.
