Nipawin RCMP asking for public’s help to identify possible shooter(s)

Jul 26, 2023 | 2:21 PM

The Saskatchewan RCMP is asking residents of Nipawin to check any personal home video surveillance and door cameras for footage, and report any suspicious activity, people or vehicles on or near the 600 block of Eighth Avenue in Nipawin between 11 p.m. on Tuesday (July 25) and 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday (July 26).

The request is in relation to an ongoing investigation from Nipawin RCMP, after they responded to a report of a 44-year-old man who was injured as a result of a shooting inside a Nipawin residence on the 600 block of Eighth Avenue, around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday (July 26).

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and he remains in hospital and will not be identified at this time.

Initial investigation has determined unknown individual(s) entered the home and a shooting occurred.

The suspect(s) then fled on foot in an unknown direction and it is unknown if they had access to a vehicle.

According to Nipawin RCMP, at this current time, there is no elevated risk to public safety in relation to this investigation, however, if that changes, the public will be notified.

Nipawin RCMP, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes and Tisdale RCMP Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.

Any tips or information can be reported to your nearest police service or RCMP Detachment by calling 310-RCMP or 911 in an emergency.
