Subject of lockdown at James Smith Cree Nation arrested

The man who forced the lockdown of James Smith Cree Nation earlier this week has been arrested.

Keenan Crawford Head was found and arrested without incident on the First Nation Thursday afternoon.

On Tuesday morning, Melfort RCMP asked the public to remain on the lookout for a stolen SUV from Prince Albert. The next day, police found the SUV abandoned on James Smith Cree Nation.

Head was also wanted by Prince Albert Police for failing to comply with a release order.

He appeared in court on Friday and has been adjourned to July 31.
