Raiders come up short in Swift Current

The Prince Albert Raiders lost a tight one on the road Wednesday night, falling 3-2 to the Swift Current Broncos.

The Raiders had leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in the first period but the Broncos rallied to tie the game twice.

It was 2-2 after one period and there was no scoring in the second period. Broncos top scorer Mathew Ward broke the deadlock with a powerplay goal early in the third period that proved to be the game winner.

Ryder Ritchie and Brayden Dube were the goal scorers for Prince Albert.

The loss drops the Raiders to 7-5-0-1 on the season, while Swift Current improved to .500 at 6-6-1.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again Saturday night in Prince Albert. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
