Police charge Pelican Narrows man with numerous firearm, drug trafficking offences

Members of the Pelican Narrows RCMP and the La Ronge Crime Reduction Team have arrested one man and charged him with weapons and drug possession.

The arrest was made on Monday after members made patrols in the community and pulled over a vehicle. They observed a loaded magazine in plain view and three of the vehicle’s occupants were arrested.

Police searched the trio and located a sawed-off firearm, 21 grams of suspected methamphetamine, roughly three grams of suspected cocaine, a sum of cash and trafficking paraphernalia.

Police charged 23-year-old Jaden Custer from Pelican Narrows with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a firearm while knowing possession is unauthorized, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unlicensed possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, weapons possession contrary to order, failure to comply with probation order.
