Community Initiatives Fund approves grants to local programs

Several local organizations are getting a boost from the Community Initiatives Fund (CIF).

CIF has approved 150 grants worth almost $2.5 million through its latest grant application intake, with a number of local communities reaping the benefits.

The Village of Bjorkdale’s After School Program will receive a grant of $5,000.

Creighton Community School’s Kodiak Connection was approved for a $25,134 grant, while the Northeast Inclusion Program and Drop-in and Day Program in Creighton will each receive $30,000.

North East Outreach and Support Services in Melfort will get $25,000 for their Youth Evolution Hangouts Program.

Naicam Kiddie Kollege Preschool Program has been approved for $2,000, and Porcupine Plain’s Porcupine Opportunities Program will receive $18,788 for their program ‘Moving Forward: Board Governance Training and Strategic Planning.’

The preschool program at the Jack and Jill Preschool Cooperative in Tisdale will get a $7,500 grant, while the Tisdale Middle and Secondary School’s nutrition program has been approved for $6,000.

The Community Grant Program will benefit 58 communities province-wide.
