Workshops to help farmers prepare for drought conditions

Feb 7, 2024 | 2:35 PM

The B.C. government is offering support to farmers preparing for another hot, dry summer.

The province will host a series of in-person workshops across B.C. to help farmers prepare for potential drought conditions.

There will be two types of workshops offered:

  • The Decoding Drought Management Engagement Sessions will improve awareness of the financial aid available for preparing for and reducing the impacts of droughts, while also helping build understanding of the legislative framework for water management.
  • The Agricultural Water Management Workshops will help producers optimize irrigation systems, explore options for on-farm water storage, and provide tips for using and managing water.
