Hudson Bay arena repairs forthcoming
The Wally Dawyduk Arena in Hudson Bay is slated to be ready for the annual summer hockey school after all.
The 30th Annual Hockey School was put in jeopardy after an ice plant at the arena went down, revealing damage to a chiller.
The equipment issue led to the removal of ice at the arena, and the town’s effort to find a replacement chiller was a challenge as there’s only one manufacturer who makes them.
Despite that challenge, the town has been able to order the new ice plants. It’s anticipated that the equipment will be delivered and installed in time to host the hockey school.
