ABEX Awards to honour local businesses in Nipawin

The Nipawin and District Chamber of Commerce is getting set to host their annual ABEX awards.

The awards dinner will be held at the Nipawin Legion Thursday, Mar. 7, with cocktails beginning at 5 p.m. Supper will be at 6 p.m., with the program to follow.

Executive Director Lisa Suchlandt told northeastNOW they were pleased with the response to their calls for nominations.

“Every year it fluctuates, but this year we had a really good turnout,” Suchlandt explained. She encouraged businesses to nominate themselves or other businesses in the future.

“It doesn’t hurt to brag a little.”

Suchlandt said it’s important to recognize the hard work owners and employees put into their businesses.

“They create jobs, provide valuable service, and contribute to the economic growth of our town. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence serves as a shining example for all of us, motivating us to strive for greatness in our own endeavours,” said Suchlandt.

She congratulated all nominees this year and said that supporting establishments like these helps invest in Nipawin’s local economy while keeping its unique character.

“Thank you to the entire business community for continuously pushing the boundaries and shaping a brighter future for our area.”
