Senior Men’s Curling Provincials underway in Melfort
Saskatchewan’s best men’s senior curlers have all descended on Melfort to compete in this weekend’s provincial championships.
The first draw began at 4 p.m. on Thursday, as two pools of six will each play five round-robin games, en route to the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, late Saturday and all day Sunday.
“It’s a good deal for us, Melfort Curling Club GM Gerald MacGillivray told northeastNOW. “We just sanded the rocks here a couple of weeks ago and we got the ice prepped to make sure it has good curl, so just want to make sure we have good ice, a good facility, good curl and go from there… there should be some really good curling here this weekend.”
Two draws will be played late Thursday, while two draws will go during the day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
