Fire crews in Nipawin respond to a pair of fires

Nipawin fire crews have been busy over the last few days.

Late Wednesday night, two hours after responding to a false alarm, firefighters were called about a structure fire in Central Park.

Just after lunch the next day, smoke could be seen in the trees along the railroad, near Riverside Manor.

Thankfully the brushfire was pushed away from the old hospital by the wind and was stalled in its progress by the railroad tracks.

Crews were able to get things under control soon after.

People are reminded that conditions are still dry in the forest until the forest fully greens up.
