Community Promotion Award

CJVR, Beach Radio giving back to non-profits

Jun 8, 2024 | 8:00 AM

The radio stations in Melfort are trying to give back to community organizations.

105 CJVR and 750 Beach Radio have created a ‘Community Promotion Award’ which will grant over $50,000 in radio airtime to a local non-profit group.

“We want them to be able to achieve all their marketing goals, whether it be to create awareness, find volunteers or just fundraise. This is just helping a nonprofit in Melfort be more successful,” explained retail sales manager, Christy Vodicka.

“This is about giving back to the community and making sure that we don’t forget that our local nonprofits have limited budgets and resources. This gives them an opportunity to apply for this program so that we can bring them front and center with marketing for the year.”

The promotion will be awarded semi-annually and is sponsored by Prairie North Co-op.

The deadline to apply is June 21st, and it is anticipated that a winner will be announced by June 28th. There will be a committee that sits down and goes through the applications.

To enter the promotion award, visit either of the station’s websites, go to the music and more section and click on ‘Community Airtime Award’.

There, you will be asked a handful of questions regarding your non-profit organization.

“I think it’s best for them to figure out what their purpose is as an organization moving forward for the year,” Vodicka added.

“I just encourage everyone that’s a non-profit in the Melfort area to apply. It’s a great way to ensure that they have an opportunity for us to do some marketing for them on our platforms and radio stations.”

Once someone is awarded, Vodicka and a sales rep will sit down and make a marketing plan with said organization.
