Barrett Rogers, a 33-year-old man from Melfort, recently passed away and a GoFundMe has since been set up in his name.

Rogers leaves behind a wife and three kids after an accident doing a side job for additional income caused him to pass away, which unfortunately means the family won’t be receiving his life insurance.

The GoFundMe has been set up to help with the ambulance bill, STARS bill and funeral costs, along with supplementing a primary income which will no longer be there.

“Just anything to kind of ease the burden for their family,” explained GoFundMe organizer Lisa Aasen.

“I am raising funds to help support Millisa Rogers and her family during this heartbreaking time,” the GoFundMe read.

Aasen is good friends with both Barrett and his wife Millisa and is actually the one who set them up.

Having been best friends with them since they were 12 years old, Aasen knows exactly what that family has lost.

“Barrett was so devoted and such a good man, he was hardworking, and he did anything he could for that family because they were everything to him. He always said that Millisa showed him the definition of what love was, so she was definitely his soulmate,” Aasen added.

“Barrett was an athlete, he could pick up anything and was the best at whatever he did. That came through with his work, sports, his family, and being a dad and husband.”

At the time of publishing, $25,155 has been raised through 188 donations.

The goal is $30,000 or higher, as Rogers ‘loved his family more than anything in the world and any help to support them is greatly appreciated.’

“Please consider donating so Millisa, Jace, Addison and Declan have the opportunity to properly grieve their dedicated father and husband… to know Barrett was to love Barrett, he is deeply missed,” the GoFundMe stated.

Rogers kids are ages 10, five and three.
