Update 5:00 p.m. on June 27: Co-op says it’s experiencing a cybersecurity incident that’s affecting systems at local retail Co-ops and Cardlock fuel locations.

Co-op is shutting down some of its systems and bringing in third-party experts as an investigation is underway.

A service disruption affecting Co-Op cardlocks across Western Canada is being blamed on an unplanned IT service outage.

As of Thursday morning, Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) said they do not have an estimate on when the issues will be fixed.

With respect to Lake Country Co-Op locations, customers are encouraged to visit the retail pumps where available. The following cardlock locations are currently down:

• Ambrose – credit card is working
• Birch Hills
• Canwood
• Choiceland
• Debden
• Domremy
• Kinistino
• Marcelin
• Nipawin
• Paddockwood
• Prince Albert
• Shellbrook Railway
• Smeaton
• Wakaw

A similar post by Prairie North Co-Op, indicated their cardlock pumps are unavailable, including St. Brieux and Kelvington.

“Our teams are diligently working to solve the issue, but at this time we don’t have an estimate on when service will be restored,” they said. “All other gas bar locations are fully operational.”

Discovery Co-Op, which serves the North Battleford area, made a similar post to their own social media page.
